A funny thing happened in Placerville last week....

A week ago I took my 7-year old daughter up to Placerville for a quick little shopping trip.
Growing up my grandmother Ruth took me often to her Antique shop while she worked. This exposure early on made a huge impact on my love for antiques. I couldn't help but think how wonderful it would be to have my grandmother out shopping with us in Placerville. It's been 5 years since my Grandma Ruth passed, but she still remains close to my heart.

To my surprise a fabulous thing happened during out shopping trip. Claire & I stumbled upon this lovely antique tomato spoon engraved with "RUTH" on it's handle. Yes I had to buy it!

Silver bells....

Vintage Silver finds.... lovely as is with the antique tarnish. Who says it's possible to have too many serving trays? This pile here collected during a brisk shopping trip to Santa Cruz (a $50 hunting spree). There are two silver pitchers - one of which is engraved, which make excellent vases for those garden picked roses.

They made me smile....

A herd of little Party Sheep arrived complete with little glittered Bonne Fete party hats & pink paper frills. Each one retails for $6. A perfect little gift that made me smile.....
